Before fat can be transferred, it must be removed. Dr. Machida will select a donor area or two to harvest fat. These areas can be anywhere on the body that has excess fat. For women, Dr. Machida often selects the lower abdomen, hips, buttocks, or thighs. Men tend to have good fat deposits for harvest around the lower abdomen, lower back, and buttocks.
